SIOUX CITY — An Occupy Sioux City organizer said he expects to attract people from Des Moines, Omaha and elsewhere for a protest tied to the GOP presidential debate here on Thursday, Dec. 15.
“This would be a good place to get the word out and let people know about what’s going on with Occupy and spread the word,” organizer Tony Axtell said.
He said members plan to have signs and banners around the Sioux City Convention Center. Several streets are blocked off near the site.
A group of union workers also plans to gather outside the Convention Center at 5 p.m. to advocate for working-class economic needs, Northwest Iowa Labor Council official John Hamm said.
