While Palin hasn’t announced her plans for the 2012 presidential race, the timing of the stop puts her in Iowa with all of the Republican presidential candidates compete for attention. The Iowa Republican Party and Fox News host a candidate debate in Ames Thursday night, with many of the candidates remaining in Iowa for Saturday’s Republican straw poll.

President Barack Obama will also be arriving in Iowa on Monday for a three-day tour. He is scheduled to speak in Peosta in northeast Iowa.

Palin was in Iowa in June to attend the first public screening of “The Undefeated,” a film detailing her rise in politics. She is planning to headline the Tea Party of America’s “Restoring America” rally Sept. 3 in Waukee.
