Crossroads Grassroots Policy Strategies (Crossroads GPS) July 8 launched the second phase of its $20 million advocacy campaign on runaway government spending and debt. New TV spots with a total of $7 million in advertising buys begin running in Iowa and elsewhere on national cable and network stations in eleven states and 10 key House districts.
The new national ad, “Wake Up” will run in rotation as both a 60- and 30-second spot on national cable networks, as well as on broadcast TV stations in Iowa, Colorado, North Carolina, New Mexico, Nevada and Virginia. They will be backed up with significant internet advertising. A total of $228,870 will be spent on network TV and the Internet in Iowa over two weeks.
The total dedicated to the effort, on national cable, local network affiliates, targeted internet ads, and production totals more than $7 million over two weeks.
“As the debt limit negotiations heat up, we need to counter the power of the President’s bully pulpit and make sure Americans are getting the facts,” said Steven Law, president of Crossroads GPS.
The new spot is part of a summer long, $20 million effort Crossroads GPS to urge decisive action by Congress to cut spending and the national debt and start rebuilding the nation’s economy.
