Potential 2012 Republican presidential candidate U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota will speak in Des Moines May 26 at a Polk County Republican fundraiser.

Bachmann, an Iowa native, will headline the second annual dinner honoring long-time Republican activist and area businessman Robb Kelley.  The event is set for May 26 at the Des Moines Marriott Hotel, 700 Grand Ave., with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m.

The fundraiser is a joint venture by the Polk County Republican Party and Robb Kelley Club. Last year’s speaker was another potential 2012 candidate, Newt Gingrich.
